I write about things. Pretty things, thoughtful things, whimsical things, difficult things, me things.
I sing in the shower, from the radio and my own little songs. I forget my little songs after I towel off. I guess they're like little salamanders, dead without the water.
Experts say I sing like a flute, skilled and pretty but uninteresting. Perfect for choir soprano. I consider having larynx surgery or smoking, just to be fascinating. Altos get all the fun. I want a voice like a cello, or at least a kazoo. I would sing forever, for free, if I thought it was anything but boring. But it is.
I dream well and often. I only have nightmares of betrayal and of shame, and rarely. My favorite: I dream of running quickly then hopping, believing, and flying on the strength of my belief. I ride it through the clouds and through the years of my youth. I'm not sad when I wake up. I have an overpowering need to try it.
My first sentence I ever said was "I can do it myself". But I lied. I can't. Nobody can.
