About me - Marsha Sigman

About me

My name is Marsha Sigman and I am from Texas. I am not sure why I always add that as if in someway this defines me. Maybe it does.

I have a full time business career that I enjoy but my real passion is writing.

Words are power and I am in love with the written word. I have always wanted to be a writer. I love books, the way they feel...the way they smell. A new book is like a chocolate bar to be slowly unwrapped, savoring the anticipation and then devouring it in one entire sitting. I also love chocolate.

I want my writing to mean something, to touch people and make them think, laugh, or cry. I do not believe I will ever be as good as my favorite authors but thats inspiration to keep trying.

I have been married 20 years to the same man who I am still crazy about and have one son that is the combined product of all our best qualities.

I am trying to raise them both.

My favorite quote is "A friend will help you move....but a good friend will help you move a body."
I have read many quotes but this is the one that has always stuck with me.
I have been married 20 years after all.

My mother's favorite quote is "If equal affection cannot be, then let the loving one be me."
Sometimes I wish I could be more like her.

I awoke to my husband screaming my name. When I opened my eyes all I could see were flames inches from my face. I screamed and immediately rolled off the bed. I flopped around on the floor for a few minutes, certain my long hair was on fire. It was not; it was the pillows that were burning merrily away and half of our bed with them. We had forgotten to blow out the candles. My husband screamed for water! It had started out as such a wonderful evening. The kids were both sleeping over at friends; we had the house to ourselves. We lit candles all over the bedroom and shared a bottle of wine. W...
