Hi, my name is Heidi and I am an outgoing, happy and thoroughly English thirty something woman with a whole lot of energy, a passion for writing, and a life story worthy of a slot on Oprah!

I love writing, and try to fit in as much of it as possible around all that life demands of a working mummy :-)

My passion is ...

Learning. I love to learn, and I love to help others find ways to learn. Anything and everything, but especially about history, as that is what has put us where we are now, on a small and a larger scale.

I know too much about ...

Nothing, I truly believe you can never know too much, you are always learning.

My parents always told me ...

To listen to Shakespeare, and that famous quote 'to thine own self be true'.

My childhood ambition ...

I really wanted to be the Prime Minister! This was obviously when Margaret Thatcher was 'at the helm' in the UK, LOL!

My favorite memory ...

I have so many it would be wrong to single one out. I love my life and everything it has made me.

Why I write ...

I write because I can't not write, it is part of who I am.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

I have just finished (OK, with my DH!) putting up lots of bookcases, to house some of my books. I read and reread again, and at the last count had over 3000 titles (I know, I know!)

Getting married in a beautiful stately home, and realising I had none of the last minute fears that so many people mention.

My inspiration ...

My husband's Grandma, who is over 100 years old, and still living a full and independent life. That's really amazing to me.

I had to write this article, as I am feeling overwhelmed with disbelief after finding out this weekend that the two top secondary (High) schools in my area, both of which are Christian faith schools, operate a system of 'point scoring' as a way of deciding which pupils to admit. The way I found this out was in discussion with some new friends I have made on recently finding my way back to church after an overly long absence.
