Hi as an Israeli/American life in Israel like life in America had its difficulties. But what makes Israel unique, a person can persue a spiritual identity. After studying Torah for more than 15 years, I have reached the conclusion that a Torah life comes down to: (A) Emotional Development and (B) Employing a Torah oath to cut a brit for the purpose of both creating and defining the different facits of the soul. The Spirit, component of Torah spirituality orbits around a minimum of at least 2 parallel universes, a physical universe and existing in the same space but occupying a different dimension a spiritual universe. Mathmatically the law of the parallelogram, at least by the way I learn, best expresses the vision of multiple parallel universes. Obviously this perception rejects Newtons' law that matter can not be created or destroyed, becuase this law does not apply to the spiritual parallel universe. It also rejects the scientific method that limits scientific perception of reality unto empirical knowledge. Furthermore Torah spirituality does not find merit in religious notions embracing the fundamental importance of "believing in god(s); human history and societies on the whole have expressed theologies and dogmas of religious belief in the god(s) yet murder oppression and sexual depravity and stained the history of human relations and society. Torah spirituality places the burden of the Kindgom of Heaven upon the Creator whom the Torah calls Adonai. The burden of the Kingdom of Heaven requires lifting shame and disgrace in order to plead for mercy. Mercy qualifies as one of the 13 spirits revealed unto Moshe at Sinai. Mercy has 3 seasons: regret and shame for ones own personal failures; regret and shame felt by one's children and household and allied peoples for their future personal failures and inadiquacies as a human being; and lastly Adonai chose Israel as His People by means of an oath/brit/alliance and Israel accepted the Torah as witness, that Adonai bears the burden of "believing" in man, that bnai brit Israel can be righteous. Mercy stands before anger when bnai brit man fails to fulfill the belief of Adonai in man.
The Israeli Palestinian Conflict Personally Ian Loft's perception of viewing this conflict with wider broader lenses, this makes much sense in my eyes. As an Israeli/American who has lived the last 20 years of my life within the borders of the Jewish State I personally compare this conflict unto a Persian rug; their exists many threads and knots in these disputes, and all of them operate independently from the others, but all form a complicated general clash of feelings interests dignity and power. For an outsider, understanding this conflict requires nothing short of a miracle! Modern war...
