About me

I was never one of those kids who had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Since I was a small child, I have wanted to write books. During my teenage years, I realized young adult novels were my passion. I hope to one day have the opportunity to write for a living, but for right now, writing on here and getting a few dollars a month will have to be good enough.

I got my undergraduate degree in April 2006 in Communication Studies and a minor in English. From there, I had great plans to write sports for a newspaper and publish my first novel within a year. Things didn't happen exactly the way I had planned. I spent the next few years mostly doing jobs that I didn't really like until I decided to just go for it and apply for graduate school in Creative Writing. The whole process was really quick. I applied in late May 2010, and by mid-August, 2010, I had been accepted and I had moved over 1500 miles away to go to grad school. Right now, I'm loving it. I get to do a lot of writing. The only unfortunate thing is that I have less time to do writing that's not for a class.

That being said, I think that there are many children who should be encouraged, sometimes even strongly encouraged to participate in sports. When it is a forced thing, often the parents are hoping to live their own dre...
