About me

I graduated from college about three years ago with a degree in Communications and a minor in English. A few months after college graduation I started substitute teaching. That wasn't what I wanted to do with my life, so after about two years I stopped to try and find a job writing. Since that time, I have done writing for a few different web sites. Ultimately, though, I would love to write a young adult novel.

My first experience with getting my writing published was when I worked for my elementary school's newspaper. Now I read what I wrote back then, and I want to laugh. When I was twelve, I had a poem published in a book of poems. In high school I worked on my school's newspaper and yearbook. In college, I worked for the newspaper for a while. I have had experience since college writing a large range of different types of articles including some on subjects that I knew little about before I started writing.

Other than writing, my two greatest passions are reading and sports. If you were to look at me, you probably wouldn't believe it, but not that long ago I was pretty good at several sports. Unfortunately, during college and after college graduation I became less physically active and have gained more weight than I would like to admit.

Even up until my senior year of college I assumed I'd at least be engaged when I graduated from college. i even had the day planned if I should make it that far unmarried. It was a Friday about three weeks after college graduation. Yet, here I sit at about two months short of 25, over two years out of college, and I am definitely single with no marriage prospects anywhere in the near future. This isn't exactly the way I imagined my life going. A l...
