G M Burkart is an e-learning consultant and designer pursuing a Masters in Education. His grander dreams include gaining social studies & science certifications and reconciling with the fact that he is a big teaching & knowledge geek.

He received his BA from Mount Allison University, majoring in International Relations with a minor in Religious Studies.

For two years he lived in rural Japan, assisting with English classes in public schools and teaching adult conversation classes.

Presenting persuasive arguments and clear positions is a fundamental skill that can only be improved with practice. G M Burkart has presented position papers and reports to a variety of public figures, including Members of Congress.

He would describe himself as an infovore that doesn't particularly mind early mornings, so long as they don't fall on a Monday.

SURVIVAL ONSEN ETIQUETTE - The Japanese hot spring baths - onsen - is simply a requirement for truly experiencing the culture and nature of Japan. It is more than simply cleansing relaxation. It can also be an important part of being in a community of friends. I love visiting onsen resorts in the most remote locations in Japan. On average, I'd discover at least one new onsen a month, often more. I was fortunate enough to have had a few pointers given to me before I first stepped into the first unsuspecting onsen resort, and a few good tips will serve any foreigner to Japan very well indeed...
