The Opened Hand  I sought to take from the brook of life, Clinching at its bounty with my strangling fist. My will was of no consequence. To take from life was of little advantage. I learned to receive from the brook of life. Offering my open and cupped palm of hand, I was able to accept instead of take, which made all the difference To receive from life as needed and more.
