About me - Robert Cooper

About me

That's me in the middle of the pic!

I loved Humanities and English in school and even had a poem published in a national high school magazine. After that I began living life way too fast and ocasionally when I would try to slow down and soul search and reflect I would start writing and never finish before I was off and running again. Don't get me wrong I had too many superfiscial experiences to number but they were just that.
I abused drugs and alcohol for about 30 years gradually progressing before I hit bottom. I did gain many life experiences that also have given me many stories to tell. The void I felt with that fast lane life style was unbelieveably simple. It was spirituality. Mine comes from Jehovah. See ya on line!

Briefly me

My passion is ...

wanting to be part of Jehovah's love. The arts(music, poetry, short writing)

I know too much about ...

golf and living in recovery

My parents always told me ...

be sweet and stay out of trouble

My childhood ambition ...

to fly and be a professional golfer

My favorite memory ...

My father was old and we won a two man golf tournament against the local "hotshots".

Why I write ...

It gives me a chance to relax, clear my mind of negative thoughts, remember things of my past, present, and ponder thoughts of my future.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

The Bible, literature, and the Internet

My first job ...

Mowing lawns( I had regulars) the longest I've ever been without a job is 2 weeks. Age 15-54

My best moment ...

Watching and helping my children being born and making a "2" on a par 5 at Roanoke Country Club, N.C. which is a double eagle.

My inspiration ...

My father who was a master of seemingly everything, taught me to practice if you want to win. Also told me during the disapointment of defeat," it's OK sport you'll get'em next time you did your best".

Sittin here thinking, almost in a trance, Would I do the things I've done, If I had a second chance? Some I have forgotten, Others I can't forget, Maybe the best things, Just haven't happened yet. I've had alot of good friends, For some I truly cared, For though we may have parted, I missed the times we shared. I've not done all I wanted to, Sometimes I do regret, Maybe the best things, Just haven't happened yet. It rarely made a difference, As the years flew by, I barely had the wisdom, Or the time to try; I know I'm so much older now, And I just won't give in, There is a way to happiness,...
