I am an undergraduate biology major in my first year in college. I intend to become a osteopathic physician, possibly with a specialty in infectious diseases. I have experience in the health care industry, as my father is a physician and I have spent large amounts of time in the hospitals that he has worked in.
In all four years of high school, I was involved in the National Forensics League. I attended the national speech and debate tournament twice, placing in the top 60 in Lincoln-Douglas debate and in the top 30 in commentary speaking. In my state's debate tournament, I placed second in Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Due to my participation in the National Forensics League, I have an informative background in foreign policy and national politics. I pay close attention to both national and international situations, through several news sources. In furtherance of this, I will be attending the Presidential Inauguration in 2009, during a scholars conference.
I was also involved in the Solar Bike Club at my school. I personally aided in the creation of a solar-powered bicycle and car. In the National Solar Bike Rayce, my team's car placed first in the high school division and second place over-all.This has given me a background in alternative energy, specifically solar technology.
