About me

I am currently a stay-at-home mom with three kids, one grown son and two young daughters. I am a native Californian, transplanted to the east coast seven years ago after marrying my best friend. We met on match.com in California while he was finishing up his last tour of active duty in the Navy. We are enjoying life in southern New Jersey and I am keeping busy with the daily antics and activities that a 3 and 5 year old provide. Although not college educated, I have an abundance of weird, quirky, funny, and sometimes too crazy to be true life experiences to draw writing inspiration from. I think this website is going to be a great learning and proving ground for me, and I am looking forward to the journey. I come from a family of writers and am hoping that some of their talent is lurking in my dna as well!

Flies, Butts and Daydreams, Oh My!

As my eldest daughter prepares to embark on a new and exciting adventure in Kindergarten; one that officially marks the beginning of what we hope will be educationally and socially fulfilling (and continue for at least the next 17 years), I cannot help but reflect on the past five years and some of the lighter moments. My daughter is a great communicator (i.e., talker), which she no doubt inherited from me, her chatterbox of a mother. Most parents will agree that conversations with a toddler can be very entertaining and sometimes even insightful. Th...
