About me - Barbara Guess

About me

I have now retired to the island of Crete , Greece, where I live with my husband and 3 dogs. I took a degree in law LLB(Hons) at Buckingham University ,England in my 40s and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of a tough subject to study. I've experienced many work environments but worked for Royal Mail for the longest period as both a delivery postwoman and as a manager. My work experience includes Industrial Engineering or Time and Motion Study, helping to improve office productivity and efficiency. During my free time I helped out at the local Citizens Advice Bureau.

Now I spend my time learning the greek language, teaching english, handicrafts, writing, painting, reading and anything else that comes along looking interesting. The Internet is a great source of information and keeps me in touch with what is going on in the rest of the world. It also keeps me in contact with my granddaughter, Ruby, who is now 1 year old and lives with her mum and dad in Zurich, Switzerland.
