About me - Renna Madison

About me

I was born in Warner Robins, Georgia in February of 1970. My father was in the military so much of my childhood was spent traveling from base to base. Thinking back on that now, perhaps that is where my love for travel and seeing new things came from.

I've held a lot of different jobs in my life - everything from cocktail waitress to university professor to corporate programming analyst. I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Cincinnati in 1997, and I still truly love math and science. There's just so many other things that I want to do, though. Maybe one day I will get back into that field, but for now, I am enjoying writing and design work. Stating this reminds me of the Paula Poundstone quote, "Adults are always asking kids what they want to be when they grow up because they are looking for ideas."

Currently, I reside in Reno, Nevada with my two cats, Pete and Pipper.

There will be those who shrug and state they aren't sure before running back off to play, but they are few and far between. For the most part, children speak openly and excitedly about the things they want to do when they grow up. They truly seem to believe that if they can say it, they can be it. ...
