I am married. Have 2 children and 2 step children. My oldest is getting prepared to go to college next month and my youngest is going into the 5th grade. Quite a span in age right! My husband and I are very happily married. Have been together for about 15 year. We moved from a very small gossipy town in Illinois to a large city in Alabama about 9 year ago. We love it here but miss our family and friends very much.
I love to write which is why when my daughter told me she was going into journalism for her career I was very pleased. She is going into the TV communications part of it but atleast she is going to be doing a bit of her own writing!
Both of my kids have also developed my love for reading. If they begin a good book, it will be finished the same day they start it. The librarians in the are know us well! It does no good to actually buy books because they don't last! We read them too fast and then they sit on a shelf staring at us, begging us to read them again, but we are bored with them! We want new ones, more titles, and we love books that are written in series!
My husband hates to read and hates that we all read!
I also do genealogy. I can sit on the computer for hours and days doing research! I have gone back many generations in my family tree and have a few websites out there with my research on it. Actually had to take a break from it though, hubby was feeling neglected. I told him I would take a break over the summer, but winter, full force!

I can say that I have effectively disciplined my now 17 year old daughter, soon to be 18 in August by being her best friend and her mother at the same time. She is proud to tell anyone who will listen that her mother is her best friend. She has told me everything in her life that she has done. The right and the wrong, the good and the bad, whether she would be disciplined or not. Fortunately, there were not many instances where punishment was an issue. Now, I did not "hang out with her teenage friends". I was just there for her to talk to. I was there when the boyfriends broke her heart. I...
