I was born in Opelika, Alabama and grew up in the nearby historic town of Tuskegee. I had the blessing of having an oddly mixed family, that consisted of the cousins my parents adopted, after their mother died, and my four sisters. Growin up with seven other kids in the house, I became the type of child who craved solitude and a separate world born of my imagination.
A writer was born, but all my family could think was that I might be crazy. They didn't understand that I wasn't talking to myself, I was simply telling myself a story or two.
Since then, I have grown into a full-fledged adult who still likes to make up stories, tell good stories, and read good stories. Despite my wandering attention span, I finally graduated from the University of Montevallo, after eight years, with a degree in Spanish.
I have been to Merida, Mexico and would love to travel all over the world. In the meantime, I'll just supplement myself with stories, poetry, and other writings on the things I already know and have seen. That way, when it's time to write about the new thins I learn, I will already have practiced putting things into the format of excellent writing.
