About me

It's hard to believe, but I am a well-into-middle-age woman. Time goes by soooooooo quickly and I don't always know the face I see looking back in the mirror - it's not supposed to have all those lines!

God has richly blessed me with skills that allowed me to be successful in business, mostly through management of system integration projects, development of process methodologies and sales support. All of those mean a lot of writing, and that is one of the things I most enjoy about business. The other is looking at the impact of human dynamics on business.

I was excited to find Helium. I look forward to the opportunity to learn from other writers and improve and expand on my skills!

I am a New England transplant to Florida, where I have lived for the last 7 years, but still miss New England and spend a lot of vacation time there, hiking and visting family. I especially love winter hiking. There is nothing more beautiful than a trail with freshly fallen snow.

"The Owl and the Pussycat" is about as silly and nonsensical a poem as you can get. Even the staunchest grump has to smile at the ridiculous paring of an owl and a cat going to sea in a "pea green boat".

Edward Lear composed his Book of Nonsense rhymes in 1846 for the grandchildren of the Earl of Derby. England was in great need of humor at that time. The influence of the church during the Vic...
