I've been writing and editing professionally for twenty years, mainly in government communications because I have a strong commitment to ensuring taxpayers know how their money is being spent.

But I'm also interested in reflecting on life, and the challenges and solutions we come up against on a daily basis.

I love writing - I'm always composing something in my head - and music, reading, film and travelling. My perfect life would allow me to indulge in a daily combination of all of these things.

Modern parent, or logistics guru?

When did I sign up to be a logistics manager?

Ten years into parenting and that's essentially what I feel I've become. I could do it in my sleep, or even for the army.

I have one eye on the school logistics assemblies, excursions, money, lunch, permission note, transport options all kind of under control - check.
