Jim Johnson was born to William and Lucille Johnson in Naples, Florida on June 6, 1959, but grew up in the swamps of South Carolina. He went to Clemson University where he graduated with 3 degrees (His Masters in 1983) and then worked a short time in Vaccine Research. In May, 1986 he joined the US Peace Corps and was sent to the Caribbean where he met Nicole Clarke. They were married in 1989 and now have two children, Jessica (19) studying medicine at Oxford and Patrick (17) studying physics at Clemson.
Jim and Nikki set up Adventure Tours/Top to Bottom as a guiding agency in 1993 and were the first licensed hiking guides on Nevis. The police were worried and send out observers hidden on the trails. The reports were that "they looked at birds, bugs, and plants, and told bad jokes". Most would agree with this.
He also helps do research with numerous (18 to date) different Universities and Educational Institutions from around the world studying various aspects of the Nevis Ecology. He also works as an environmental consultant on development projects around the island and teaches occasional short courses at the Medical University of the Americas.
It has recently been suggested that Jim help as a site steward for the ecology/environment channel which he is willing to try, but would like as much help as possible, so contact him with ideas and suggestions!

What this question really means is how does some one know if God is watching over them. There are all sorts of different answers to the question and none are really scientific. Guardian Angels really have to be taken on faith and are often referred to as "luck"! They are the good things that happen just when you need them and against all odds.
