Austin Brown was born in Lexington Kentucky in 1976. He is the son of two professors, Walter Brown and Sue Johnson. After serving his community and country as a Paramedic, Teacher and Soldier, he has begun serious work toward his literary career. Mr. Brown has resided in Texas since 1983, and currently lives in the hill country of central Texas where he resides with his ex-wife Jenniffer and his three children.

The angle of the listing winter sun,
Like a slow heavy ship on the horizon,
There is the sound of sad violins in this light.
My naked branches reach up in deliverance,
I am sluggish and sad,
The last of my leaves cling by chance
In the wind-
