: About Me

Prior to earning my EdD in Educational Psychology, I worked as a journalist for an environmental news program. This program was located in the San Francisco Bay Area, but our news crew traveled both nationally and internationally. As a reporter, I researched, interviewed, and wrote news stories that were syndicated in 85 national markets. I traveled with our television crews, directing them during interviews, and in getting the necessary b-roll. I also worked with editors when I returned from shoots in order to produce the pieces on deadline.

In addition, I worked as an associate producer for a travel news program also located in the San Francisco Bay Area. For this program I also research, wrote, and traveled with the crew. We traveled internationally and nationally. I covered all of Florida, New Orleans, Puerto Villarta, Bordeaux, France; Copenhagen, Denmark; Edinburgh, Scotland. This program was syndicated in over 150 programs both internationally and nationally; we were in all the top 10 national markets.

Before, during, and after receiving my doctorate, I taught television broadcasting, performance, research, public speaking, English Composition, and English Literature at the both at the Community College and University level.

In order to write my doctorate, I constructed a questionnaire, tested its reliability and validity, used the questionnaire with my control group, and with my experimental group. I then used SPSS to quantify my results. I had constructed five hypotheses, and I supported all five hypotheses with statistical significance.

I am now working as a massage therapist and health educator. I am most interested in craneo-sacral work and in Somatics, which is combining traditional therapy with body work.

This is a natural transition for me because I have been physically active all my life, doing yoga, boxing, kick boxing, as well as other physical activities, and I have also always been very tuned to teaching people about not only other places, and current events, but also about themselves.

I am currently working on maintaining and writing on several blogs regarding media and Literature. Through these blogs, I have begun a couple of organizations to influence peoples' relationships with literature.
