Hi. My name is Brenda Shaffer. I am a mother of two grown sons, and have recently gotten married for the second time. Along with doing some freelance writing, I also have a part time job at a local supermarket as a supervisor and service desk clerk. I love to write fiction and also write some non-fiction. I am currently working on two projects of my own - one based on a personal experience and the other being a horror or sci-fi story. I have also started on writing some poems. I have a wide array of interests and can write about practically anything. If I come up with an idea, I start doing research and writing at the same time.
The thing I love about writing is that you can get an "escape" when you write fiction and learn when you do non-fiction work, even if you know something about what you're writing.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with family (which is very important to me), read various books, watch some TV (which I don't do very often). Most recently, I've been making up some worksheets for my son and his fiance to study to earn their GEDs.
Along with my husband, we are in our local volunteer fire department. He's an active firefighter while I am part of the department's fire police. My husband and I also are in charge of the fire department's website. We also are in charge of putting the information about each call into the department's computer and sending it to the emergency management service for our area.

Renewed Faith and Spirit Sister Ruth has always had a strong belief in God - ever since she was a small child of four years old. She has read every word of the Holy Bible at least five times and has memorized many verses of the Scriptures. She knows all the stories and teachings in the Bible. Her firm belief is why she has joined the convent at the young age of 19. Her parents have always supported her in every decision she makes. The day Sister Ruth joins the convent and takes her vows is a glorious day indeed. Her parents are thrilled when Ruth becomes a full-fledged nun and fulfills her...
