Most of my life, our local fireworks had been held at our reservoir; but some time in my teens the city decided to move them to our fairgrounds. I remember the first year that I went to see them there, it was my best friend and I, along with her father. There were rides, and stands of all sorts set up on the grounds, a live band on the stage, it was like a miniature County Fair.
