Hi There!
First I would like to say "thank you so much" to the people who created Helium. It's such a good idea for people who want to get into the writing business, or for people who just enjoy writing!
My love of writing started in the 7th grade when I won numerous essay awards. I will never forget the fuss my mother made over it, pasting my awards on the family refrigerator for all to see!
I wish I would have pursued a writing career, instead I found a job and went to work. Finally after all these years, I have a chance to write and see if it is any good. If not for the internet, I probably would have no idea how to go about that. Thank goodness for the internet and Helium!
I live on the family farm in Waushara County. We raise Christmas trees here. Wautoma, the closest town, is the Christmas tree capital of the world. If you bought a live tree last Christmas, there is a good chance it came from our farm, or a farm close by!

I can see that one day, we may all have to live like the Amish, and I can tell you, most people would never be able to adapt to that. Hopefully, we will find the answers to these problems in the very near future. I have a lot of faith in AMERICA! I believe we can do ANYTHING! After all , the Internet is another American invention that has changed the world!
The year is 2013, five years after peak oil. Gas is now over 11.00 a gallon. The average American no longer drives a car. Only the government and the military have access to large amounts of gasoline. It is a world none of us could have imagined. The average American family of four has made drastic changes to survive. It is a cold Midwest morning, the alarm goes off at 7 AM. The family wakes up to a cold, 55 degree house. An electric spacer heater is the only form of heat, and all electric, nation wide, is shut off from 11PM-7AM. Through out the winter months, only three rooms are heated, ...
