About me - Lora Kay Alexander

About me

This planet to me is often like a jungle...sometimes it is wild like a tiger and sometimes as delicate as the petals of the flowers. I believe we all have been given beautiful, meaningful gifts and talents by our Creator.
He plants the seeds and gives us the opportunity to go through the thorns of life to find the roses; from which we make lovely arrangements to share with those we love.
I have never enjoyed anything more than sharing Roses In The Rain (Music Publishing Company BMI/Nashville).
If you ever have a doubt in God's awesome creation, just look deeply into the heart of a rose and you will find part of your own heart there.

Without my wonderful family and friends, I would be up Cripple Creek without a paddle. You are my life! You form the pieces of my life's puzzle into total perfection, giving me parts of yourselves to help make me who I am. Your love and loyalty is grander than fiction, and I cherish it with a passion. The journey with you, is God's most special gifts to me. You are why I sing! And dance! And love! And live! And write! It is my gift to you! So, go somewhere and buy a book or song! And, remember to stop and smell the Roses In The Rain.

Lora Kay Alexander, originally from Campton,
a small town in the hills of Kentucky, knew by
the tender age of five exactly what she wanted
to be, but not only when she grew up, but right
then. She wanted to be a writer and a singer,
and at that moment she began trying to capture
the beauty of the world, and the people around
her, attempting to reflect that beauty back. She
never stopped...with having written over 1000
songs throughout her lifetime, Lori was inspired
to expand her horizion not only in music but
freelance writing in many different fields. One
of her fondest dreams is to see one of her published
novels on the BIG SCREEN. That could be closer
than a dream as a Literary Agency is offering her
novel: Until We're Free for motion picture at
present.

Lori lives back and forth from the Dayton, OH
area and her second home Nashville, TN,
where she is President of Roses In The Rain
Music Publishing with BMI, and recorded
a new CD: Roses in The Rain, with Reba's
Band. She wrote the original songs for the
CD and is singing them with Reba's Band.

She mingles and is friends with some of The
Grand Ole Opry stars and sings to anyone

who will listen. She has enjoyed her TV
show: Country Unplugged, starring in her
original music videos listening to others
sing her original songs. More than anything
she wants to touch others hearts with her
creations-that's what makes her happiest.

Lori has been listed in the International
Who's Who of Entrepreneurs, 9 consecutive
years, for her music-based and freelance
writing endeavors. She has been known to
say: You've got to dream before dreams
can come true and I dream BIG!" She
is confident that God gives us each talents
(like little seeds) and He wants us to want
to enjoy developing them and share them
with others. And that is her greatest passion

Briefly me

My passion is ...

Creativity...

I know too much about ...

Ego: The part of us that is not who we are, but can be one of our greatest downfalls. Be aware of the moment and fill it with love.

My parents always told me ...

To be a good person and use the talents God gave me and they will shine for others.

My childhood ambition ...

To be a successful freelance writer/singer and to touch as many hearts in a good way as possible.

My favorite memory ...

Kristi Eve being born on Christmas Eve...delivered by her Dad. The nurse brought her to me in a big red stocking with white soft fur. She was in it with just the top of her head sticking out. Jet black hair.

Why I write ...

To share my passion of love with the world.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

My novel: UNTIL WE'RE FREE/NANCY GRACE/A ROSES IN THE RAIN SONG.

My first job ...

Picking strawberries at about age 4. I spilled most of them running down a sandy road but still got my first dollar.

My best moment ...

When I accepted the love of Jesus in my heart. He is my greatest Author.

My inspiration ...

Jesus (first) and family/friends and a special songwriter/singer/friend Daryl Mosley. He is great and gives me desire to want to do better with my talents. He uses his like the pro he is.

His permissive will... I've always heard it said: "Misery loves company." I have found out, sometimes misery goes too deep for company. The stark reality of emotional pain goes beyond that of others understanding and the only place of any kind of comfort is in bed, where lots of covers and pillows gather around you like little soldiers, waiting for the battle.  Mixed emotions makes us feel crazy, insane, numb...barely existing in a place, in a space, where nothing seems real. In this bed of of wild oats, we will not attempt to move, to feel, to think, to reason, to try and succeed or ...
