I got into podcasting at the end of 2007 when I realized that the podcast format is so wonderful for learning a new language. I saw the potential for Hebrew, particularly because there are so few resources available for learning to speak conversational Hebrew as spoken in Israel. In February 2008, my wife and I launched hebrewpodcasts.com - the first website for learning Hebrew by podcast.
Of all the intellectual pursuits, perhaps the most rewarding is the study of a new language different from your native tongue. Even as it stimulates and enriches your mind, mastering it deepens your understanding of the culture it reflects. Suddenly you have access to new literature in its original tongue, perhaps even revealing a new understanding of your own language and culture.
