: About Me

I was born in Calcutta, India where my Dad used to run a business. I had my education in India and used to live in Alwaye, near Cochin(Ernakulam) on the banks of the river Periyar in Kerala State with my sister until March 1996 before I migrated to the United States to join my parents. I used to work for a Clearing and Forwarding Agency in Willingdon Island in Cochin. It's one of the favorite jobs I have held so far. It was very interesting due to the fact that I had a lot of exposure to the outside world in terms of work as well as personal recreation. I got to learn a lot of the shipping business, travel quite a bit (my daily commute was either by train, bus and boat through the backwaters). Cochin has always fascinated me! I miss my friends and my usual evening walks during the weekends. I love India!

English was my favorite subject in school. I owe a lot to my great English teacher in School, Ms. Aleyamma Varghese, who taught grammar so well that I am able to use the language quite effectively and I am always indebted to her.

My wonderful parents have always been an inspiration to me and I doubt that I will ever be such great as they are. My parents worked hard for us and they were able to achieve what they weren't able to achieve earlier. I wish my Dad had those better days during his younger days. My parents have been so loving to me and my sister, besides other people and they sacrificed quite a lot for us, so that we could have a better life. I am always thankful to them. I always pray for them and wish them all the best, since they are retired. I am glad that they were finally able to do the same. I miss them! I have a very loving wife, who has also been an inspiration through her advice and experiences in life and not to forget my young toddler who makes me smile and forget some of the things in life.

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio these days. This is a very nice place to settle down. Thanks to my parents! I was able to publish some of my comments to the Letters to the Editor in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Conde Nast Traveler and was very excited about it. I have published articles in the Company Newsletter called "Central Source" and I have also been a part of the Divisional Newsletter Committee at work, since 2006, publishing quite a few articles, doing proof reading on a regular basis, providing trivia, besides generating ideas and I really enjoy the whole prospect. Last, but not least, I am really excited being a part of Helium and being able to write articles, getting them published and rate articles as well. My spare time and weekends are busy!

I have enjoyed being a mentor for Elementary school children for the "Ohio Reads" program and doing volunteer work at the Tall Stacks 2006 Music, Heritage and Arts Festival in Cincinnati at the banks of the Ohio river.

My passion is ...

To become a good writer, publish in any of the prominent magazines such as the National Geographic, help my parents and the needy and the aged people of Africa and India, get my Bachelor's Degree and travel.

I know too much about ...

I believe I shouldn't say that. I think, it could be over confidence!

To work hard, be loving, study, care for one another and enjoy life.

Joining my parents in the United States after a long separation, meeting the late Prime Minister of India, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi and the day when my daughter was born.
