I am a proud Vietnam era veteran and former U.S. Army Drill Instructor. I have also spent a combat tour on the Demilitarized Zone in the Republic of South Korea. I enjoy reading, free lance writing, and photography. Some of my other interests are Military History, Wildlife Ecology, Animal Rights, hiking, and camping. I am a Naturalist that loves studying nature and spending time in the great outdoors.
My wife and I share a home with 4 beautiful cats. I am an ethical vegetarian, a member of the Humane Society of the United States, and Defenders of Wildlife.
In my spare time physical fitness, boxing, baseball and soccer are among my pursuits. I enjoy writing on this site and sharing my knowledge with the vast number of talented writers here on Helium.

Hunting is the ultimate contradiction, because hunters kill the very animals they claim to love and respect. Can anyone explain to me how the killing of a 13 ounce squirrel with a 12 gauge shotgun be sporting?
