Giovanni Di Lago is a former international travel professional and Japanese marketing specialist. He spent more than 15 years in the tourism industry, 7 years of which focused on travel to and from Japan. He has written and edited publications covering foreign tourism, trade and marketing, and has participated in government and public commercial trade development events both in the USA and abroad. Despite varying degrees of international immersion, his foreign language skills are only slightly better than deplorable; truly, no one should be subjected to his butchering of the French language (which he blames on a brief sabbatical to Europe in the '80s and overindulging in "Pepe LePeu" cartoons as an enfant terrible). Currently a financial advisor, Giovanni is also a self-trained "contest chef" who has appeared on Japanese television as an international cook-off contestant. He plans to carry his passion for travel and cuisine (and his wife Anna) back to central Italy later this year.
