: About Me

Dori graduated from  Centenary College located in Hackettstown, New Jersey.  Her degree is in Fashion Merchandising and she has had a retail career for over 25 years.  When she decided that was enough, Dori pursued her passion for the care of animals and started a pet sitting service.  Dori vowed to be the best pet sitter in town and made every effort for her clients-both human and pet.  She had over two hundred human clients, most with multiple animals, and had six employees.  After six years in the pet sitting service Dori decided to sell her company.  She ended up with two buyers-one for each side of town.

Fascination with words always seemed to be more of a hobby, even a secret for Dori.  Writing poetry that no one read and a love of telling stories but never taking the time to write them down (as so many friends have suggested).  And her love for music-not just the melodies but to really learn the words and feel their impact.  One of her favorites is by The Goo Goo Dolls, "scars are the souvenirs we never lose".

As Dori continues to enjoy writing she has looked back on her retail experience and has written several articles about merchandising and customer service.  Dori was the main writer for The Coffee Times in Las Vegas until the owner decided to close his doors.  She had the pleasure of writing humorous stories involving everyday life and about hot topics in the news.

Currently, most of Dori's writing is submitted to Helium.com.  She continues to write for the retail world as well.  Such as policy manuals, training material and merchandising guidelines.

I am starting my day with a very heavy sigh. I neeeeeed to clean my house. Cleaning my house is my most undesirable chore. I'm exhausted just thinking about doing it. Surely it will take me four days to mop the floor, two days to clean the bathroom and close to a week just to dust.
