I was born in the city of Los Angeles, in the neighborhood of Van Nuys, California. my birth date is November, 12th, 1979. I was my parents first born child. We lived in Valencia, California, for several years. During that time, my parents had one more child, my sister Amanda, born in 1982.
My Dad, an employee of Abbot Laboratories, at the time, was a pharmaceutical sales representative. He then received a promotion at work and we moved to Tigard, Oregon. We lived here for several years and during this time, my parents had one more child, my youngest sibling Chris, born in 1985.
My Dad received another promotion, this time his new position took us to the state of Illinois. For around two years we rented a house in Waukegon, Illinois, while we awaited the construction of a home my parents were having built in Lindenhurst, Illinois. We then lived in Lindenhurst for around two years.
Then it was back to California. In Illinois, my Dad had been a sales manager, but he took a step back down the corporate latter, so we could return to California. During our summer vacation, my self, my brother, and my sister went to stay with our Grandma Pauline. My Grandma lived in the beach area of La Jolla, California. She took us to the beach almost everyday and we lived the boogie boarder lifestyle, while we awaited our parents.
When our parents completed the move, we then rented an apartment in the city of Moreno Valley, California, I was around 10 years old, at the time. We at first stayed in an apartment for a few months. We then moved into a new home that had just been built, in the south area of Moreno Valley. During my final year of high school, I moved out, on my own, to an inexpensive apartment in the western area of Moreno Valley.
I got my first job, shortly before moving out. I worked as a data-entry operator, for a mail order company, in Perris, California. I had many jobs after that. I worked at Papa John's Pizza, delivering pizza. I worked at Mc Donald's as a crew member. I delivered newspapers for the Press-Enterprise, then got another delivery job at Domino's Pizza.
Around this time, I moved in with my first girlfriend, who I had met while working at the mail order company, back when I was 19 years old. It was a short move, only down the street about half a mile. My girlfriend was 25, when we met, she had three children.
I quit my job, after two and a half years, at Domino's. I took the first job I could find, which was as a security guard. I guarded a home owner's association swimming pool, for the summer. During this summer, I left to stay with my parents. The relationship with my girlfriend had become, for the most part, nothing but constant arguing and bitterness. It did not seem like things were going to get any better and appeared they would continue to go further downhill.
While staying with my parents, my Dad encouraged me to apply to become an airport security screener. This was about one year after September 11th, 2001. The federal government had decided to take control over the airport screening. I did apply and ended up being hired as an airport security screener, at the Los Angeles airport.
This job took me closer to Los Angeles. I found a place in Torrance. While I had been staying with my parents, I had decided to begin following a vegan diet. This is a diet excluding all meat and diary products. About 6 months into this diet, after just getting started at the airport, I began to become very sick. I eventually become so sick it was affecting my job performance and some of my supervisors were not satisfied with my work. After around 3 years or so, of performing this job, I quit.
I strongly feel, this diet, is the reason I became so sick. I would not recommend a vegan diet, based on my experiences. I now follow a diet that includes all the food groups, and slowly, but surely, my health has improved greatly. I deeply regret becoming a vegan. Many horrible things have happened, I feel, due to following this diet. I hope that telling others what I have experienced, will help them to think twice about following this diet, and will allow many to live better, healthier lives.
After leaving the airport, I tried to sell some items at the Roadium swap meet, in Torrance. After two days of doing this, I saw, I did not have the money needed to invest into getting this kind of business, off the ground. I became a taxi driver in the city of Los Angeles.
This was an interesting and challenging endeavor. A taxi driver has to put in a lot of hours, to make the kind of money, you will usually need, to afford rent in the Los Angeles area. I rented the cab 24 hours a day, every week. It may have been better to have a partner. Anyways, from a renting driver's position, it seems to me, to be a very tough business.
It was as a cab driver, that I met my current girlfriend. I had become so sick, after being a vegan, I went several years preferring not to have any romantic interests. I was still not ready when, I picked her up, as a passenger, from a grocery store in the neighborhood of Koreatown, in Los Angeles.
We ended up going out for a walk at a park. Then had another date. I still was not feeling that great, physically, and would have preferred to remain alone. Of course, I was very lonely, due to staying to myself as much as possible and also missed sex very much. She could put up with the fact that I was not always feeling so physically great and really seemed to need me emotionally. So, we grew closer and closer, in a short time.
This girlfriend also, has three children. She is also about six years older than I am. To be honest, I would have preferred a woman about my own age or a little younger. The reason I ended up with an older girlfriend the first time, is because I was very shy around women. She made the first move. It seems older women are more likely to do this than the ones your same age. The second time, I was not really shy anymore, I just preferred to keep my problems to myself and therefore did not want to ask girls out. My current girlfriend was again the one who suggested us doing something together, and started the relationship.
The money I was making, driving the taxi, was falling short on paying the bills. I applied to drive a bus for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, in Los Angeles. I got it and quit the taxi driving. The MTA trained me to drive a bus and helped me obtain the proper license. I worked as a bus driver for almost one year. Then, while in my girlfriend's car, I was involved in a car accident. There were no injuries and the accident was not my fault. The other driver's insurance paid to repair the damage to both his car and my girlfriends. I lost my license for one year because there was no insurance on my girlfriends car at the time.
I then was ineligible to drive for the MTA. I could no longer afford my rent in Torrance. Recently, I moved into my girlfriend's apartment in Koreatown, in Los Angeles. I took the first job I was offered, a cashier position at Carl's Jr. That's were I currently work.
I'm looking into getting into retail, such as swap meet selling and inter-net sales on the side. I'm 6 foot, 5 inches tall and played basketball, my freshmen year of high school. If things would have been different and if I would have been more dedicated to the sport, maybe I would be playing for the Laker's right now. Basketball is more of a hobby for me. Eventually I would like to become a scientist and documentary film maker.
I have almost always had pets, all through my life. I love animals and that is why I tried the vegan diet. Unfortunately, It seems, in my opinion, eating animals is probably necessary for human health and even survival. I believe in evolution and believe our bodies have evolved to run on certain fuels. I currently have one cat named, Patch. My girlfriend has five gold fish. I won't eat them, but I have been enjoying plenty of cheeseburgers with my 50% off employee discount. I feel soon, (It's been over 3 years since quitting,) my health will be as good as it was before ever following the vegan diet. Keep it real homeys.
My passion is ...
trying to understand how things work.
I know too much about ...
beating my meat.
My parents always told me ...
no matter how good you think you are at something, there's always someone better.
My childhood ambition ...
always changed, it went from being a farmer, to a cop, to a movie star, to a professional athlete in every sport.
My favorite memory ...
is when I built a large ramp, about five feet tall in our downward sloping yard. I was sitting in the kitchen, with my Dad. I could see out the window that my younger brother, about 3 years old, was altering the ramp. He added some more wood under it, to make it larger. I could hardly keep from laughing. He stood and looked it over. He carried his big wheel to the top.. He quickly made his way to the ramp. I knew, he would back out. "Damn it" my Dad yelled, as he soared through the air.
Why I write ...
because it is fun.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I like to read the current news. I just read a book called, "Atom Journey Across the Subatomic Universe." I like to watch comedy shows, like, "The Simpsons," and documentaries about health and science, on the National Geographic channel. I like all kinds of music. I just learned to play the, "Married with Children," theme song, on the piano. I've been working on, "In The Club," I think it's called, by 50 Cent.
My first job ...
besides cutting grass in my neighborhood, it was as a data entry operator for a mail order company.
My best moment ...
is probably when, I had to do a presentation for my driver's safety/ health class in high school. My younger brother and I, were practicing with the video camera, making toy cars appear to move. We made a practice, stop motion scene, where a car crashes into a rhinocerous and then flips over and skids along, and then the rhinocerous gets up, unharmed and runs off the scene. We played it back for my Mom and my sister. They laughed so hard. I was so proud that they enjoyed it, as did the class.
My inspiration ...
really everyone is an inspiration. Everyone uses the knowledge and experiences that they have, and tries to do the best they can with it. In many ways, I admire Mohandas Ghandhi. I now suspect, that being a vegetarian, as he promoted, is unhealthy. I also, often think, that maybe, displays of physical strength, in order to protect yourself or your family, may be more right than non-violent non cooperation. Overall, Gandhi may have saved lives, but it is our instinct to protect ourself & family.
The Ultimate Antagonists? There are so many great fantasy villains in film, it would take all day to name them all. I decided to provide a list, of my top 15, most memorable, make believe, bad guys or girls, in movies. These 15 evil-doers, are listed in order, from least to most memorable. They earn their spot, based on my opinion, of how enjoyable they were to watch, while carrying out their dastardly deeds. For your reading pleasure, Here's the scumbags: 15) Don't think that just because he barely made the list, he's not that bad of a guy. I'm talking about Paul Sarone (John Voight), (An...
