My passion is ...
Passion.
I know too much about ...
The 1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer, 4.3 Liter fuel injected V6, and what happens to one when you drive it like mad a hundred miles a day down cratered back woods trails which barely qualify as roads.
My parents always told me ...
"It's not your fault." But I'm pretty sure it is.
My childhood ambition ...
To write. Also, to live in an underground house. Oh, and to be a superhero. Well, that one wasn't limited to my childhood.
My favorite memory ...
The time that me and my friends went in search of this lost pirate ship through a series of booby-trapped caves, and there were some bad guys after us, and a big deformed dude who kept yelling, "Hey you guuuyyys!" and we finally got to the ship and found the gold but the bad guys found it too and we all had to fight and then the ship broke loose and sailed away and our parents came to pick us up on the beach. That was the best time I ever had.
Why I write ...
I have to. I've tried not writing. I always end up writing.
What I am reading/watching/listening to ...
I just finished Ethan Frome, by Edith Wharton. I've been listening to the White Stripes and Brad Neely's raps (Babycakes, JFK, at Superdeluxe.com), I really liked Sweeny Todd, and most of the time I listen to public radio.
My first job ...
Frying Catfish.
My best moment ...
Every moment.
My inspiration ...
My kids. Humanity. Really I'm inspired by almost everything. It's all fodder for the writing machine.

Miley Cyrus has. . . . . .apologized? For all the hype over the Vanity Fair photo I fully expected some - edited -, and maybe a little - edited -, and perhaps even some - dear God, man -, but when I finally saw the photo at the center of this whole whipping dance (at the super market, on the cover of a tabloid, which I didn't...
