I've loved to write for as long as I can remember, but it's only recently that I have explored writing for income. It was when I began college that I started to get some recognition for my writing, which has given me the confidence and enthusiasm to make it my obsession.
I am most knowledgeable in the business and politics writing channels. My business writings tend to be of an entrepreneurial perspective, hence my college studies and ambition. I am currently working with the Rohrer College of Business and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship on my new venture set to launch soon. I envision my future as a serial entrepreneur with a heavy hand in writing.
My political knowledge comes from my rampant and unbridled interest in politics - current and historical. There is nothing that gets me more energized than a battle of ideas. I will likely be active in the Democratic campaign this coming year, doing whatever I can.
I am the recent recipient of the first Sunshine Week Citizen Journalism Award on the issue "Are candidates missing an opportunity to connect with voters on open government issues?" This has been a highpoint in my writing career and it has brought me a lot of attention. Helium has opened many doors for me, and I had my first article purchased by online business publication Capital.com, thanks to this extraordinary site.
I consider myself extremely eclectic in my interests, which allows me to explore many arenas in my writing endeavors. I enjoy mixing it up and trying to write creatively about areas I'm not particularly well versed in.
I also like to navigate outside of my comfort zone and challenge myself like I have done with the exploration of the poetry channel. I've received good feedback with this and I do thoroughly enjoy creative writing, though I've experienced much of my success through technical writing.
I hope to have a long and successful writing career here at Helium, and I hope published books are in my future. I love feedback so please don't hesitate to contact me. Questions, concerns, criticisms, and compliments are all welcome.
I am always seeking freelance work, other writers to network with, and new opportunities. So please do contact me.
