In the past half century, I have been a farmer's daughter, a cheerleader, a single mom, a legal secretary, a coach, a non-traditional college student, a substitute teacher, a real estate agent, and a cancer survivor, among other things.
My inspiration comes from my life: I am a wife and mother of five who is interested in education (the teaching of reading, in particular), home decorating, gardening, running, writing, reading and politics.
I have a bachelor of science in teaching (elementary ed), and received my master's degree last summer in literacy studies. I am currently employed as a first grade teacher, and I'm also a licensed realtor.
