Should I?

Should I go, should I wait
Your smugness really took the cake
The need was there, the love was good
I could have stayed, I really could
But the mocking song, the mocking bird
Who stole the nights and stole the words
Left us cold like Winter breeze
Hearts so cold. Hearts that freeze
So, I'm swaying here amongst the mess
There's something still I must confess
I could have stayed and made you laugh
But I couldn't take the aftermath
Let me go. Let me loose
Let me free this tightened noose
Leave me to my loneliness
