I have a lot of different interests that keep my writing about a variety of topics. I love golf and wish I could make a living at it. I am about to receive a degree in ancient Near Eastern studies with an emphasis in Classical Hebrew and a minor in Classical Greek. I'm also a licensed massage therapist and a freelance artist. Last year I won first place in the editorial cartoon section of the National Newspaper Association's Better Newspaper Contest. My wife is currently 14 weeks pregnant with our first child and, to sum up, I couldn't be happier.

My favorite verse in the Bible is a simple verse. I memorized it years ago in a number of different languages, and since then I've been blessed with the opportunity to share it in two different hemispheres and in several different countries. The verse comes from Christ's great Intercessory Prayer, found in John 17. Verse 3 reads: "And this is eternal life, to know you, the only true God, and him whom you have sent: Jesus Christ" (my own translation).
