Why Is Impeachment Such a Bad Word?

The word "impeach" seems as though it is a bad word, as it relates to President George Walker Bush and his administration.
According to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary, to impeach means, "(US) charge the holder of a public office with misconduct." In other words, the person is charged with a crime or crimes. At this point, the accused person is not found guilty. The impeachment stage of the proceedings is comparable to a citizen charged with a crime, but, is presumed innocent until or if guilt is found.
