I am a mother of six children and I have six grandchildren, as well. Most of my children and grandchildren still live with me, which delights my heart. I love having my children close to me and their children have proved to be just as much of a blessing to me. I am disabled right now and it is sometimes difficult being stuck in the house, but my writing brings me comfort and I am able to share my feelings here on Helium, for one.
I am very experienced at motherhood. I still help raise my grandchildren and I have two teenage sons. I raised them in church and most of them still go and they love the Lord with all their hearts. I also counseled young people for years and took in runaways and helped them get back with their parents. Recently some of the kids I counseled came to see me and it was heartwarming hearing their stories and it melted my heart when they thanked me for taking care of them and helping them. I miss that now.
Through all the tragedy in my life, I have learned valuable lessons. God has always been my strength through everything.
I have been writing since I was ten years old. I use to write little stories to entertain my friends. You know the type; a story that includes all of my friends as the heroes and my enemies as the villains. My friends love to read them and sometimes we would get in trouble for reading them in class. I recall once that the teacher took one of my stories away and a boy stole it back for me because he was one of the characters. For some reason, she never discovered that the story was missing. I was delighted when he handed it to me after class.
My stories use to be made up of cute little romances or adventures involving people I knew, but now I have ventured out and started writing some stories about my life. Being disabled I find myself with a lot of time on my hands late at night. My children still keep me busy most of the time, and my grandchildren occupy what time is left. I still find that I have a lot of time to write.
I love writing Christian Mysteries. I have written 28 novels, but I have never published them. I originally started writing them for my kids to read. They loved for me to sit there and read them as I wrote the story. They would all gather around and some of the little ones would crawl into my chair behind me. The time we spent together reading was always quality time. I loved hearing what they had to say and they loved telling me what they wanted to happen next. Usually I surprised them.
Even though I have been stricken with pain with my disability, God always teaches me something through my pain. I realize there are others who are suffering a whole lot more. I always remember that saying "I was complaining because I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet." It goes something like that. I thank God I have a few good days to try and give back to Him the many blessings He has bestowed upon me. Even though we struggle everyday because of the weak economy, God always comes through for us.
I love my grandchildren so much. Now, it is payback for my kids. I can watch them deal with their kids as I had to deal with them. The part I like the most is the fact that they still need me. It makes me feel good. They still run to mom when something happens to one of their kids or they do not know what to do when their little one does something out of the ordinary. My daughters told me that they realize now they should have listened to me. Now, they are learning the hard way. I think we all do.

The town of Decatur was in an uproar. Seven people were murdered in the last four weeks. Police still didn't have very many leads. The ones they did have lead nowhere. An FBI agent had arrived to assist. It was offensive to Chief Wilson and he intended to stay on top of the case. He demanded that they be included in the investigation. Detective Morris was called back from vacation to assist the FBI. He wasn't real happy, but he was the best they had and the Chief gave him no other choice. As he looked over the case, his face changed. All of the victims were people that he had come in conta...
