I've been writing professionally since 2004. For the 13 years prior to that I was a PR consultant to some of Silicon Valley's top tech companies.
I have also been, variously, a sports reporter, part owner of a comic book shop, and a girls basketball coach. Today, I'm a full-time contributor to The Motley Fool and its Rule Breakers growth stock service. There, you'll find me writing about stocks and mutual funds. (Links to the right.)
Here, I'll be writing about other financial topics (vacations, affinity programs, debt) and other subjects I care about (food allergies, parenting, writing, politics, and anything else that strikes me as odd or remarkable).
To organize my too-often disorganized writing life I've created a Google Notebook called The Freelance Writer's Helper, which you can access via the link to the right. Please write to me using the tool on this page if you have criticisms, comments, or additions to the Helper. Or if you can't wait, follow me at Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/milehighfool
Thanks for stopping by and good luck to you in your own writing life.
My passion is ...
Writing
I know too much about ...
Debt and its dangers
My parents always told me ...
To stop being so damn lazy
My childhood ambition ...
To be a writer (really)
My favorite memory ...
Not a fair question. I have too many good ones.
Why I write ...
Because I'll often write something that makes me laugh out loud.

"A public relations person, who calls themselves [sic] that, is an applied social scientist who advises a client or employer on the social attitudes and actions to take to win the support of the publics upon whom his, or her, or its viabili...
