About me - Blue Shield

aboutme

Hello all, I am a 26 year old aspiring writer from Houston, TX dedicated to providing in depth analysis of our nation's political discourse and the direction in which we are headed towards. I feel like our country is in a pivotal moment and feel its my duty to contribute positive energy and assert what our sacred Union needs to stand for again. Make no mistake about it, the blatant obviousness of the neo-conservative chokeehold that has plagued our union over the last 8 years is frankly reprehensible and un-American at best. I am dedicated to the Progressive movement though I will be quick to point out faults of both far left and far right wings of the political spectrum with no hesitation. "Progressive" is not synonymous with the "democratic party" just as the term "neo-conservative" is not with the "Republican Party." Most of the topics that will be covered will be the ones that the mainstream media like CNN or the propagandistic "media" like FOX NOISE will not cover. The reason they won't is because they prefer the politics of yesterday that has led to 8 years of Bush atrocities and Rovian politics, or they strive on the divisiveness and pandering of Clintonian politics, or maybe they just want to keep people from trying to do things the correct way for once, politicians that tell us what we need to hear instead of pulling stuff out of you know where, politicians that actually are smarter than us, an atypical politician for once that the nation so dearly needs, you know like that presidential front runner candidate, the senator from Illinois? From what I know and read, the last time a congressman from Illinois became President, he turned out to be the Greatest one in our nation's history, and it would make the perfect story that a current Illinois congressman becomes our next president with the immense help from a past one that essentially paved his way by freeing our nation of the worst of sins.

brieflyme

My passion is ...

Helping others, contributing not just 'to' but 'with' my country, and striving for progress

I know too much about ...

Nothing. The day someone voices or thinks they know too much about something or someone, they find out that they know very little about themselves

My parents always told me ...

That one's purpose in life is not just to live safe and long, but to bring purpose to those who may not see purpose in their own lives

My childhood ambition ...

Was to become a famous basketball player

My favorite memory ...

Is that of my Grandparents voicing to me that nothing great will be accomplished without me being mentally tough and soud, along the very rugged journey of Life. They always supported my decisions and fervor for those issues I held dear to me, just as long as I was being open-minded, repectful, and understanding of all others.

Why I write ...

Because this is the most powerful tool at my personal disposal to carry out my goals. As early as elementary school I would playfully write clumsy anecdotes that nobody will ever see! I just happened to start liking it early on and performed well in those courses where writing papers was the 'norm' throughout my educational journey

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

The Huffington Post, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, The Colbert Report and The Daily Show, Real Time, currently anything that is politcally driven irregardless of which side of the spectrum. Yes I do pay attention to the far right programming and editorials online, so I stay inept to what kind of atmosphere we as a Union are dealing presently

My first job ...

At a drug store known as Eckerd at the time, now CVS, after the drugstore jugarnaut bought them out

My best moment ...

Was primary election day here in Houston, the excitement, the unity, the passion for something new was unprecendented

My inspiration ...

The reality that there are so many injustices to so many, injustices that are being deplorably justified by the 'few in charge.' This is what inspires me to better myself so I can help better others in hopes of turning so many negatives into positive pictures

Mccain's Pastor Association Much More Wrong Than Wright's Association with Obama.

John Mccain Was for Endorsement by Anti-Catholic, Anti-Semite, Anti-American, Fear Monger Pastor Before He Was Against it, and Before He was for it Again.

John Mccain's association with Pastor Hagee is infinitely worse than Barack Obama's association with Pastor Wright. While Obama and Wright had a 20 year spiritual relationship, Mccain and Hagee have nothing more than a clear-cut political relationship, one that is completely soaked of far right neo-conservative foreign policy.
Senator Obama met Pas...
