Maine is a unique and diverse corner of the United States and enjoys a multitude of housing idiosyncrasies which surely seem unusual to others. Partly through 'Yankee ingenuity' and partly through the individualistic nature of it's' inhabitants, a clear differentiation of housing styles has evolved, or perhaps devolved. As surely as architectural differences exist between Arizona and New York they exist between Maine and the rest of the country.
