About me - Terry Mahoney

About me

4/22/08
I am a married father of three living in a pre-colonial rural Maryland home. I am a former Marine Sergeant and political moderate with ambitions of writing professionally. My interests include both fiction and non-fiction and I have recently put myself on a strict reading diet alternating between popular fiction, classic literature, histories, and non-fiction, in the hope that some of the greatness of what I read will rub off on how I think and write.

Recent books I've read include:

The Last Stand of Fox Company

Chronicles of the Frigate Macedonian

The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo

Collected Essays of Thoreau

I sell for a living, religiously split my ticket on the ballot 50/50 as an intellectual excercise, and like playing games with my family.

This year I am writing again, and training for a big hike

Semper Fi,
Terry

The Queen at least offers stimulating conversation, but the kings do nothing but bicker; an eternal extension of their public personae. It seems to complete them. That refreshing moment when the case is dragged the few feet across the rough planks to the edge of the attic is a thrill like no other. I don’t even mind that blinding flash of light when the lid is opened. Always, always they dig through the costume jewelry, push aside the sashe...
