My MA is pending completion of the last two chapters of my thesis on Jungian archetypes and personality typology. I anticipate presentation and graduation in December 2008. I have spent 10 years working with children both in the school district and in an acute psychiatric facility that also included some residential units, with my specialization being the child/adolescent acute care unit. My strong points are in de-escalation of anger management problems to avoid a physical management and 1:1 observation and management of acute patients that are an endangerment to themselves or others. I have extensive work in group facilitation, with my primary modalities being William Glasser's Choice Theory and Jim Faye's Love and Logic.
I am the mother of a 27 year old daughter that is district corporate manager of a well known office supply company. I am also the mother of a 16 year old daughter that has struggled with ADHD, as well as other disabilities in her earlier years.
Before I entered the world of psychology, I studied classical voice for 8 years and piano for 6. I have performed before large and small audiences as well as on the radio and television stations. I spent several years as lead vocalist for various bands in the Colorado area.
My life has been eclectic and I hope to share my diverse views on many things here on Helium. I am working on a book that explores Dissociative disorders. After completion of my thesis it is my hope to turn my study into a book that must remain nameless so as not to disclose the exact factors I am measuring and keep my data pure.

Could everybody benefit from ADHD medication? Well, I am sure they could, just as everybody might benefit from doing a line of cocaine now and then or maybe shooting up a little crystal meth! Sure, why not? I hope you have realized that I am saying that in a very sarcastic way. Stimulants are very addicting. The only difference between ADHD amphetamines and street amphetamines, is that they are legal and the others are not.
A very large percentage of the population has an addictive personality. Many people can't quit smoking. When I am working many and long hours I consume huge amounts ...
