Sandra Laraine Coleman (slc) is a mother, writer, poetess, hostess (open mic venue), self published author and beautiful black woman making a way out of no way.
She is Founder and Co-Hostess of Spreading Love-N-Spoken Words (slnsw), a weekly open mic for poetry, spoken word, music and song. The venue has been in existence for 7 years and is still going strong. Slnsw is also one of the longest running poetry venues in Los Angeles.
For slc writing is not a hobby, it's a way of live and she is committed to her motto changing the world one poem at a time. You can see her performing at festivals, other open mics, colleges and universities, elementary schools and cultural events. You may even see her performing West African Dance with Dembebrah (a dance troupe). She is just as passionate about dancing as she is about writing ... "it's the one time when I feel truly free". West African Dance connects her to her roots and enhances her writings.
