I am a vibrant, active and intelligent 29 (well really 45) year old girl living in Saint John, NB, Canada who finds herself madly and passionately in love with life.

I was born and raised in the small mining town of Glace Bay, NS leaving when I was 20 years old for the bright lights and excitement of the big city. Okay, so Saint John is not a big city, but it sure sounds exciting don't you think?

When I was 13, my mother, who was 41 at the time, died of a massive coronary heart attack, changing the course of my life forever. It was then that I would begin writing in an effort to ease some of the pain, fears and confusion that was inevitable after such an event.

For close to 25 years I shared my writing with less than a handful of people I trusted most in life. After all, those written words were but a snapshot into my very heart and soul, a place I seldom shared or gave entrance to.

A few years back I would anonymously post a poem about my Christmas experience growing up, as a memorial to my mother on our family website. Immediately members of my family would identify me. Perhaps it was the content of that poem, perhaps the memories of me writing when younger.

The inner fears of exposure and judgment were quickly put to rest and within a year I would be constructing my first website. There would be many more to follow.

I am told I have a way of writing that is both compelling and engaging. Encouragement has come from those close to me and also many I have never met in person.

It would be the strangers who have crossed my path I tend to believe, and so I write.....and share......more and more as each day passes.

Hayden's Sad Story........
