I have known myself to be a writer of many forms, for many years of my life, yet it has been a dream never fully pursued. Poetry or course, has always been a favorite and I was highly disappointed in my one HELIUM attempt at poetry that ended up next to the bottom in the ratings. I tried to write from a selected list of topics and that method apparently does not work for me in the poetry rink.

Many who share the passion for journalism as I do will know without too much thought, the obstacles that may have hindered any writer from stepping out onto such a rocky pathway as the pursuit of a writing career.

Can any of you remember the first time you looked deep into eyes that could not understand what writing means to you. Those eyes that stared back blankly as you tried to explain how writing is like a part of your body that can't be removed. Those same eyes stared without changing as you tried to make them understand that writing really does lift your spirits and contributes to a healthier overall you!

Let me give you a little personal overview. I have been married for 33 years and have three grown children and six grandchildren. I spent the majority of my working career as a Cardiovacsular Technologist, trained to assist physicians with a variety of diagnostic examinations to assist in the diagnosis of heart disease. The 25 years that I spent in this field included working with patients in life saving situations that did not always have a favorable outcome. I am hoping that the knowledge obtained will be helpful as I begin a career in journalism. Although I did not obtain a degree in nursing to fulfill a childhood dream, I did achieve a number of college credits that allowed me to be successful in my chosen first career.

I am hoping to gain more and more knowledge of the HELIUM system to assist me in fulfilling a life long dream of becoming a "REAL WRITER".

Passion that sometimes seems unexplainable. A fire lit by another that I must quench.

What I am reading/watching/listening to ...

Like good mystery reading/watching and viewing. Love exploring biblical history and my own personal knowledge on the subject. I do not limit myself to what is preached by ministers or interpreted by someone else. One of my favorite authors is Robin Cook and his fantastic medical thrillers. Best movie producer that I enjoy is Tyler Perry. His movies generally are humorous and true to life without too much foul language, which makes for the best choices in my eyes.

My daily inspiration lies in my faith in God and the love generated by my belief. His love is the fuel that sustains my life and gives me strength to endure my remaining days on earth.
