Don't even deal with a Dell, Gateway, or HP. HP's are very expensive and are OK. Gateway's are absolute crap, and I really dislike Dell's and have never had very good luck in the past with them (3 Dells over the past 5 years). Avoid all three of those models, and just go with a mac. Although they are more expensive than a Dell or a Gateway by far, they are much more easier for a beginner to computers, and are very easy to learn and understand.
