Living life and loving it! That's me. In my mid fifties, I am well into my 2nd, possibly 3rd, career. I have been a freelance writer for 10 years while my three sons were small, have been published in several monthly magazines for children and adults, specializing in both fiction and non fiction. I have even won the odd award in poetry competitions.
I have been an information designer for a software development company, writing user manuals in support of their financial institution software. "Point here, click this" isn't inspiring writing but it can pay very well!
I have been a bank teller, laboratory receptionist, medical office receptionist, worked for insurance companies, both as a computer programmer and as a receptionist.
In addition to this varied employment background, I am an avid animal lover, having owned numerous cats, dogs, and now horses, plus an assortment of indoor and outdoor (barn) cats. And gerbils. You can have a relationship with a gerbil where the animal displays intelligent responses to you if you give it enough respectful attention. I know; I have done this. And I've written about gerbils, too.
I enjoy many crafts, including knitting (been a knitter since age 8), embroidery, some crochet, beadwork specializing in jewelry, now beginning work with polymer clay, just finished a "Hexagons in the Wind" quilt designed by Martha Thompson (thanks, Martha!). In years past I've spent many hours sewing, making clothing for myself and children, including lingerie and some tailoring.
Now retired from corporate America, I focus my attention on developing my home based business through an amazing personal development and skin care company offering premium Swiss formulated skin care at affordable prices for those who demand the very best.
