I am a 52 (soon to be 53) year old US Department of the Army civilian employee. I have worked for the US government for 32 years and plan on retiring soon, God willing. I have traveled and lived all over the world. Currently I live in Germany, the beautiful city of Heidelberg.
What makes me who I am is the way I was raised, how I lived my life, what I believe in. I have been married and divorced twice and just recently married again after being single and alone for 17 years. I love my job, I love my family, and I love my husband. I realize that no matter what I believe or how much I disagree with the way things are going in the world, in our government, or even in my organization, I cannot affect any change because I am just a little drop in the ocean. Guess that makes me impotent. I pray to my God every day that I just live my life and enjoy what I have been blessed with. I work everyday; I wake up every morning; life goes on and all I can do is live it.
I believe in the best in people but also know that there are many people out there that are mean, hurtful, and downright evil. I believe in helping people when they need help but I know that help is never there for me when I really need it. I accept what happens and soldier on even though, at times, I don't know how I manage to keep going.

Every year they had a very large vegetable garden, small vineyard, and fruit trees. All year around was a learning experience in gardening, caring for plants, and storing food for the winter. Gardening to my Aunt and Uncle didn't just start in the spring and summer months; it wa...
