About me - Bethany Vanderzand

About me

"I seek and I find wilderness in fragments, each connectly loosely in dream, where I dive headstrong and self-spurring into a world impervious to the withering touch of man." - Myself

Each person has a multitude of characteristics that make them unique, and no length of any personal essay or autobiography will ever give you a complete image of a person's spirit and lifestyle. However, to help you grasp the general concept of who I am, I will tell you a bit about myself.

I am a young adult, and currently a citizen of the United States of America - a country which I take no pride in being a part of, considering its present state and the manner in which it is governed. You may argue "If you hate the U.S. so much, why don't you leave?". At this point in my life, I am not financially inclined to uproot myself. America's failing economy has severely limited my ability to support myself, and, admittedly, I am not brave enough to move to another country when I have nothing and no formal education to fall back on. America (optimistically) is not the worst place to be living, and for now I must be content enough to wait until I have the means to migrate elsewhere without screwing myself and end up living a 3rd class lifestyle simply for the sake of escaping America's backward structure and society.

I am spoken for, interminably. The spirits of my husband and I are woven eternally, unyieldingly, and unconditionally into an unperishable tapestry of unity and love.

I am a spiritual and recreational drug user. I have NOT fried my brain, thank you very much. I do NOT commit violent crimes and deceit for my next fix. I have a loving family, a good home, and excellent health. So you can take everything you think you know about drug users and shit on it.

I am extremely opinionated; however, I admit when I am wrong, and I realize I have a lot of growing to do. Life is an endless learning experience, and I have scarcely begun my journey. Still, I'm less ignorant than the most, which isn't due to my own knowledge, but rather the lack thereof in the case of the majority.

I adore body modification and view it as a form of art. I have several tattoos and piercings and am not ashamed to show any of them off. You can conform your appearance to match that modest cubicle if you'd like, but I refuse to live in fear of self-expression for the sake of a pay-check or to avoid looks from strangers. We all have varying ideas of what is beauty and what is not. I believe myself to be beautiful, and frankly, I couldn't care less whether or not you do as well.

I am most comfortable when surrounded by trees and animals. God created man to care for the earth, and so it makes sense that oneness with nature brings peace to my spirit. Living with the earth (as opposed to destroying it and building up walls between us) is one of our primary purposes. Those who detatch themselves from nature suffer themselves for it.

I've been sketching, singing, writing, and playing guitar for the better half of my life. I love creativity and creative people.

I detest modern Christianity in America.

Other information soon to come.

Religion & Spirituality > Spiritual Insights Is mind-reading real or fake?

Let us set aside the fact that there are things in this world which science and reason cannot explain - or, at least, have not yet been explained - and that the human brain is as mysterious as it is complex. If we examine the logical plausibility of mind-reading, we find there is evidence to support it. Just as we use machines to measure brain waves and magnetic resonance (EEG and MRI), so it is also possible for a human brain to read and interpret the electromagnetic signals emitting from the brains of others. Since the brain controls thought and consciousness, and gives off a kind of "ps...
