About me - Bradley Streeter

About me

I hate talking about myself, but I'll give this a try. I'm married, 30 years old, and am a litigator in North Florida. In my past life, I served as a United States Marine. Politically, I'm something between a Goldwater Republican and a Libertarian. I'm unashamedly Christian, although I find that spirituality and morality should be personal rather than institutional things.

Now that I'm done with the boring stuff, here's who I REALLY am. I love to travel. I love history and discovering cultutes. I love nature. I can't wait to pay off my student loans, so I can sit on the beach and write all day. I'm a parrothead. Nothing makes me happier than entertaining a few dozen friends with a barbecue. I get a little too carried away when watching or participating in sports. As I tell my wife when she gets upset at me for losing my cool at a sporting event... "I am a perfectionist. I want to be the best at everything, and if there's something I'm not the best at, then I've failed. I don't see a problem with refusing to settle for mediocrity. Likewise, I don't accept anything less from my favorite football team/my teammates/et cetera." She doesn't buy it, and neither do I, but it's a good try.

I think you'll find the articles I write to be highly organized. Hopefully, this "about me" section is nothing of the sort. For as anal as I am, there's a little kid just beneath the surface ready to break free at a moment's notice.

Unlike the modern military, a large standing force, uniformity among the ranks was not the norm. This variety was also the result of innovation; the Civil War was the first to be fought since industrialization became commonplace, and leaders slowly adapted their tactics and choice of equipment to technological advances.
