I've been a professional writer since the age of 21 and have been published in magazines and newspapers including the New York Times, Connecticut Magazine, Better Health magazine, and Business Digest magazine.
I have written articles on golf, medical subjects, art, business and politics. I was a book reviewer for seven years and wrote a humorous, political commentary column for my hometown newspaper.
I freelanced for ad agencies both as a writer and editor and (loved this next job) wrote trivia questions for radio advertising promotions and contests.
For about five years, I wrote the ad copy for a high-end furniture store featuring designer furnishings and I've dabbled in political speech writing, brochures and direct mail advertisements.
I taught creative writing for four years and been employed as a freelance book editor. I have one novel under my belt with more to come I hope. I also write under the name: Mary Bishop. (marybb1@gmail.com)
Helium appeals to me on many levels. I get to write about subjects I like and make some money at the same time. I am pleased to work as a freelance editor for Helium articles and projects and do writing-on-demand for Helium also.
I am very proud to be part of the Helium team and enjoy this opportunity to earn and learn. Thank you Helium!
